Having originally studied medicine at what is now Imperial College School of Medicine, I then qualified as a family doctor and worked several years in the UK.
Moving to live and work in Central Asia, I then morphed into project management working on a USAID health reform project from 2001-2008. In parallel, I became Lead Consultant in the development and oversight of the World Bank “Health 2” project followed by the Asian Development Bank “Woman and Child Health Development” Project.
In 2009 I completed a full-time Masters (MSc) in International Health at Heidelberg University, Germany. Since then, in addition to numerous consultancies, I lecture to Master and PhD level students at Heidelberg University on Quality Management, Consultancy Skills and Proposal Writing. I also run 2-week courses in Project Design and Health Financing at the Charité Medical University, Berlin.
I do a lot of work as a Global Health Management Consultant working to design, implement and evaluate health projects in Low and Middle Income countries. These include (alphabetically) Albania, Bangladesh, Bosnia Herzegovina, Ethiopia, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Kosovo, Malawi, Mongolia, Morocco, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and, particularly, Uzbekistan where I lived for 8 years.
I currently live in Heidelberg with my family, amazed at how quickly my 3 children are turning into amazing adults.
